So I haven’t written about my shenanigans as of late. My apologies lately I’d been working hard the past few weeks on some cosplays for the recent Momocon. I had planned to debut both Shanoa from Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia and Pullum Purna of Street Fighter EX, but only the latter happened and I was super bummed out about it. And thus another lesson on why I should never believe others promises, but that’s a story for another time…
Anywho for my Pullum cosplay, I’m tons of happy with it but since wearing it there are parts I want to finesse. Since the start of the season I was noticing that this seemed to be the year of throwbacks so making Pullum seemed like perfect timing. That said I was really stunned at how many other cosplayers thought I was Princess Jasmine, but I actually got a few potential commissions as a result. The more amusing (and shocking) bit was a group of Street Fighter cosplayers that I wanted to take a photo with not recognizing the character; I mean did no one at Momocon play Street Fighter EX?!
As far as the convention was concerned, this was my first Momocon in three years I believe; it was a whirlwind of chaos and not even the good kind. While it was especially nice hanging out with friends when able though, since many were panelists. I mostly felt very alone and out of place, so I am very unsure if I’ll be willing to attend Momocon again next year.
